Stay in the home when cooking your turkey and check on it frequently. Never leave your food during frying, on stove\/oven.<\/p>\n<p>2. Set a timer as a reminder to check the cooking process.<\/p>\n<p>3. Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot and kids should stay 3 feet away.<\/p>\n<p>4. Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids&#8230; the steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns.<\/p>\n<p>5. Keep the floor clear so you don\u2019t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags.<\/p>\n<p>6. Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child.<\/p>\n<p>7. Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children \u2014 up high in a locked cabinet.<\/p>\n<p>8. Never leave children alone in room with a lit candle.<\/p>\n<p>9. Make sure your smoke alarms are working.\u00a0 Test them by pushing the test button.<\/p>\n<p>10.
