1. Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.<\/p>\n
2. Always walk on sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic as far to the left as possible.\u00a0Children should walk on direct routes with the fewest street crossings.<\/p>\n
3. When driving, keep your headlights on at all times. Be sure to take extra-precaution and drive slowly in residential neighborhoods.<\/p>\n
4. Like any time, avoid\u00a0distracting driving<\/u>. Don\u2019t use your cell phone while driving or munch on candy while behind the wheel.<\/p>\n
5. Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks, which can obstruct a child\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n
6. When selecting a costume, make sure it is the right size to prevent trips and falls.<\/p>\n
